About Us
We are part of Corintech located in Fordingbridge Hampshire on the northern edge of the New Forest. All operations are conducted from our historic Ashford Mill building, which was built as a flourmill back in the 1880s, and now houses our ultramodern design and production suites.
Corintech was founded in 1977 as an electronic manufacturing and micropackaging company and has steadily expanded, and developed into a well-known and respected player in the electronic design and manufacturing sectors.
As an evolving dynamic company with additional offices and manufacturing capacity in the Far East, Corintech has expanded its service offerings to provide a comprehensive range of solutions. At the forefront of these is the corintechDesign division.
The Design Process
Following an enquiry from the client, the sales team respond by arranging a Foundation meeting between sales, corintechDesign staff and the client.
If necessary, an NDA (Non-Disclosure-Agreement) can be put in place to enable full and open discussion about the product. At this time, a provisional specification is drawn-up by pooling the product requirement of the client and the product design experience of corintechDesign staff.
A period of research follows, during which various solutions may be investigated, and an outline project plan drawn-up. Specification, project plan, research materials and costings are summarized in the Proposal document delivered to the client.
On receipt of order, corintechDesign call a project inception meeting to resolve any outstanding issues prior to Development starting.
Development is the precursor to Design and comprises in-depth research, experimentation and electronic modelling in order to establish a key components list. The constituent parts of the Design stage vary, depending on the type of product or assembly being developed. Careful project management during this stage enables the most cost effective delivery of services, and helps ensure that delivery dates are met. Regular reporting to our client is imperative, and is the basis on which all successful projects are run. We make sure there are face-to-face meetings and frequent status updates.
Understandably, our clients are enthusiastic about the delivery of prototypes and a chance to see a ‘real’ product. We make sure that this happens as soon as possible, and to our agreed schedule.
A good deal of testing will already have been completed during the Design stage, but release of prototypes allows testing to be carried out in ‘live’ situations and offers invaluable feedback to both us and our client.
When our client is satisfied with the results of testing, and is happy that the product fully meets the specification, approval is given for production documentation to be drawn-up and for manufacturing to begin.
